2022 WSAA Executive Council Elections

Maria is a working professional now in the field of psychology, which is what she studied at WSC.  She has a strong interest in WSC and is interested in giving back.  She would be an asset on this Council.

I believe that Jack Chamberland would be an invaluable addition to the WSAA Executive Council. Jack currently works for Congressman Richard Neal (having worked both previously in Washington DC and now back in Springfield), and has strong government relationships on the local, state, and federal level. He has event organization  and fundraising experience, both through his work and through his annual fundraiser for the charity America's VetDogs. As someone who graduated with and currently works with Jack, I can attest to his professionalism, work ethic, and character that would benefit any organization. I hope you will seriously consider him as a candidate for the WSAA Executive Council.

I appreciate the opportunity to be considered for a position that would allow me to give back to a community in Westfield State that has had a great impact on myself as a person and in my career/postgrad endeavors. My time as 2021 class VP, Treasurer of the Economics Society, and a Model UN Delegate all added to my experience at WSU.

I would love to nominate myself to be part of the alumni association executive council. I appreciate all that Westfield has done for me and the connections and the relationships built. I would love to find ways to give back and get involved to help support other alumni.

Retired superintendent of schools, part time faculty U Mass Boston, coaching new superintendents, past president MA Association of School Superintendents. My wife was in the class of 1973 and father of WSU graduate class of 1999. Established Davis Family Scholarship providing tuition awards. Willing to work with other alumni to advocate for WSU.

As a two time WSU Alum, I am proud to have two degrees from this fine institution. I have been a member of the Alumni Council for the past four years and would love to continue serving our alumni. I am a high school teacher in Western MA and am highly involved in the community. I look forward to continuing to build the relationship of WSU Alumni with our community.

I think I would be a great addition to the WSAA because I love Westfield State and enjoyed my time there so much, that I would love to give back as much as I can!

Kat Lorenzi graduated from Westfield State in 2018 with her Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education and Teaching. She currently works for the Boston Public Schools, where she is a 2nd grade teacher. She is working towards her Masters at Framingham State University. Kat is one of the most passionate people that I know. I met her working as Student Ambassadors at Westfield State. She always strives to make everyone feel included and heard. I think she would be a fantastic representative for the WSAA Executive Council.

Long resident of greater Springfield area, Social worker with the federal government interested in diversity, inclusion , equity and accessibility . Looking to support the alumni organization with events and activities to enhance representation of all cultures and ethnic groups in admissions, graduations of BIPOC students and scholarship opportunities .

My name is Mike O'Rourke and a proud Alumni of the class of 1973 with a BA History. My daughter, Michelle is an Alumna 2006, and my granddaughter, Ariana, plans on entering WSU in the near future.  I have served on the Alumni Executive Council since 2013. I have served on the Finance Committee, the Life long learning Committee, and as Chair of the Awards, Scholarship and Recognition Committee. Our Committee awards Scholarships to relatives of Alumni annually.  Last October, our Committee proudly chose Mr. Bud Williams as its Alumnus of the Year.

I am nominating myself because I would use my background, knowledge, and professional experiences to provide a unique perspective on diversity and inclusion.  I believe this unique perspective will support the goals of the WSAA in its long-term plans for Westfield State.  As an alumni of WSU, class of 2008, this university means a great deal to me and I want to be part a council that is dedicated and passionate about the same goals.

Nicole Primeau graduated from Westfield State in 2016 with her Bachelor of Arts in Communication. She has worked at Massachusetts Eye and Ear for over 6 years, where she is currently the Manager of the Office of Specialized Services. She also went on to pursue her MBA at Fitchburg State University. During her time at Westfield State, Nicole was very involved with Campus Activities Board, Student Government Association, Class Council, and the WSU Dance Company. She has stayed involved in alumni events through the years and would be a great addition to the WSAA Executive Council.

This is a self-nomination based on my growing knowledge of higher education trends as an alumni with a career in anticipating college needs.

I believe I would be a valued addition to the WSAA Executive Council for many reasons. First, I am an annual financial supporter of Westfield State University where I make annual donations as well as promote WSC to friends and family. Second, I have worked in higher education for most of my career and I am currently working as a fundraiser as well as assisting with alumni relations for Wentworth Institute of Technology. Lastly, I have served on several executive boards and have held leadership roles on each. I have been the chair of the AFP fundraising board for the Massachusetts Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals for three years and I have co-chaired several committees for CASE. I am very excited about getting more engaged with my alma matter and I hope to be considered to be a part of the WSAA Executive Council. Thank you, Erik Ryan

Because of her strong preparation from Westfield State University, she became an outstanding educator in Massachusetts. She was a teacher, guidance counselor, and guidance director.  In addition, she was an adjunct professor at Westfield State University, UMass, AIC, Springfield College, and Elms.  She was awarded the Western Massachusetts Counselor of the Year  AND Massachusetts State Counselor of the Year. She and her husband, Doug Tierney '71, celebrated fifty years of marriage this year.  Both of them are active in the military organization, Otis Civilian Advisory Council Membership Committee.  Arlene would be an exemplary member to your group.

I was a student/athlete and put myself through college working odd jobs while earning my degree. I know what it takes to do it on your own dime.

Westfield State gave me the opportunity to find myself and I feel it's important for me to return the love. As a current member on the Council, I would like to continue to give back to my Westfield State Campus as my main goal is to make it as more diverse as possible.
