Westfield State alumni Dr. Stacy Monette G‘07 named new principal of Fall River School

Fall River, in Bristol County, is not only known for its rich history in the textile industry, but is also home to Robert L. Medeiros Resiliency Preparatory Academy, where Westfield State alum, Dr. Stacy Monette G‘07, was just appointed principal, and assumed the position on August 1st. Monette, who graduated from Westfield State's master’s program in educational administration and has previously served as the principal of Charlton Middle School and Mashpee Middle High School, has a long-standing history of working in the education system, starting in New Jersey, working as a special education teacher. From nine years as an assistant principal in Belchertown to six years at Baird Middle School in Ludlow.

Dr. Monette told The Harold Times reporter Beth McDermott, “I’ve always been passionate about supporting students during their middle and high school years and believe that these are such critical times for growth. I’m happy to bring all that I’ve learned to Resiliency Preparatory Academy and to continue growing right alongside this community.” A quote that captures her dedication to working with students as she focuses her efforts on that critical development period between middle school and high school. In 2020, Monette was also named Massachusetts Principal of the Year by the Massachusetts School Administrators' Association. With the school year starting soon, we are excited to see you settle into the role!
