Enjoy a round of golf with fellow alumni, parents, coaches and friends of Westfield State University Athletics as we return to The Ranch Golf Club

Your participation helps us provide the best possible experience for our student-athletes. All funds raised by the Owl Club goes directly to enhance our athletic teams.

The Ranch has consistently been named among the best courses in the state since opening in 2002, and was hailed by Golf Digest as one of the "Best New Courses in America." The golf course was created on a historic piece of land - a mixture of open meadows and woodland, interspersed with beautiful creeks and a dash of wetlands tossed in to make each hole exciting and memorable. To successfully negotiate your way around The Ranch Golf Club you'll have to analyze each shot and carefully consider your options. There are many opportunities to take risks that will be richly rewarded if properly executed. The Ranch plays over 7,174 yards from championship tees.

Your registration fee includes 18 holes of golf with cart, box lunch on the course, our players’ oasis, and the dinner and awards ceremony after the round.   We always have several on-course contests (long drive, closest to pin), a putting contest, raffles and more.  Golf is a scramble format to ensure that players of all abilities can enjoy the day on the course.

Guest of Honor - Tom Flaherty Sr.

Tom Flaherty, Sr., is a lifelong resident of Western Massachusetts with nearly 30 years of experience in the utility industry. In 2021, he transitioned from his role as a commissioner on the Westfield Gas + Electric Municipal Light Board (MLP) to serve as the General Manager. His extensive MLP experience and expertise in energy commodities and sales to commercial and industrial markets in New England have positioned him well to lead this community-owned utility, which provides natural gas, electric, and gigabit internet services.

Tom and Westfield Gas and Electric and Whip City Fiber have been strong advocates for both Westfield State Athletics and youth athletics at all levels within the Westfield Community.  Most recently Westfield G&E sponsored the development of the new astroturf field projects at Westfield High School, and for several years have been the sponsor of Westfield State’s Kick-Off and Tip-Off Tournaments.  Tom’s daughter Kaitlyn has served as a student assistant with both the WSU women’s soccer and men’s basketball programs.
