Dr. Terrell Hill ’92 Appointed as Windsor Superintendent of Schools

The Windsor, Connecticut Board of Education has appointed Dr. Terrell Hill ’92 as their next superintendent of schools. The board appointed Hill following a comprehensive four-month search. Twenty-three applicants from nine states applied for the position.

Hill is currently the interim superintendent of schools in the Windsor school district. For the past seven years, he served as assistant superintendent. From 2002 to 2009, he was as an assistant principal at Windsor High School. He is also the founder of the nationally recognized High School, Inc. program in Hartford. Hill is the first Black superintendent in district history.

Windsor Board of Education President Leonard Lockhart said in a statement, "We are pleased to welcome Dr. Hill as our new superintendent. This is a new chapter that all are eager to begin especially within the grasp of a pandemic. Dr. Hill's career and personal roots in Windsor, mixed with his extensive teaching and administrative experience, is the fit Windsor demanded during the search process."

Hill earned his doctoral degree in Educational and Policy Leadership at the University of Massachusetts. He also has several advanced degrees in administration from UMass. He earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Westfield State in 1992.
