Granby Police Chief Alan Wishart ’01, ’07 Set to Retire

Police Chief Alan Wishart plans to retire in July after 24 years of service to the Granby, Massachusetts Police Department. He joined the force in 1997 and was promoted to sergeant four years later. In 2010, he was promoted to chief following the retirement of Chief Louis Barry. 

The town of Granby’s next selectboard meeting is scheduled for March 1. An executive session will be held to discuss options as well as the next steps for appointing a new chief. Wishart is scheduled to attend the meeting to share his thoughts. 

Wishart earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Westfield State in ’01, and his master’s degree in criminal justice from WSU in ’07.
