Alumnus JT Thompson ‘22 recently signed to play professional basketball with Raja (RCA) Casablanca in Morocco. In his time at Westfield State Thompson was the Owls leading scorer as a senior during the 2022-23 season, tallying 17.4 points per game. Thompson was a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) first-team All-Conference selection the same season, and led the conference with 65 made three pointers, which included five triples in a 29-point performance in the MASCAC Championship game.
He was named Westfield State's senior male athlete of the year at the school's athletic awards ceremony earlier this spring. RCA Casablanca competes in the Moroccan Basketball league. The team was founded in 1949 and has since become one of the most successful basketball teams in the country and has won numerous championships over the years.
