Westfield State University alum Shane Bogli '22 has joined the Holy Cross Crusaders baseball team as an assistant coach, where he is making a significant impact, particularly with the outfielders. Shane's passion for baseball has persisted since his time at Westfield State, where he built an impressive legacy on the field. He served as team captain, was named MASCAC Pitcher of the Week, and contributed to the team’s success as a 2019 MASCAC Champion.
During his career at Westfield State, Shane appeared in 31 games, starting in 27, and finished with a record of 16 wins and 7 losses. He posted an impressive 3.51 ERA (Earned Run Average) and recorded 129 strikeouts while pitching 161.1 innings, which included five complete games.
In addition to his Westfield career, Bogli has an impressive coaching background. He served as an assistant pitching coach at Western New England University, where he assisted with player development and recruiting, and was also the first base and catching coach. He has worked for the CT Capitals Baseball Academy in Hartford and will soon serve as an assistant coach and pitching coach for the New Britain Bees.
