Westfield State's recent Alum, Brendan Hamilton, '24, signed to play professional basketball in the Netherlands

Westfield State Alum Brendan Hamilton has just signed to play professional basketball with Almonte Eindhoven in the Netherlands. Hamilton already scored 27 points in one of his first games in Europe. His record was set at Westfield State with 32-point, 22-rebound performance in a win over William Paterson.

Signing with Almonte Eindhoven is just another continuation of Hamilton’s basketball record at Westfield State, where he garnered 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, being the second person ever to do so in his Westfield career. He also tied another outstanding alum, Matt Devine '13, for most games played at 108 while finishing second all-time in career rebounds (1,159), blocks (215), and blocks per game (1.99). It's a pretty impressive rap sheet, but it doesn't stop there; Hamilton has earned a few awards. Hamilton, a four-year player, earned all-conference honors each season, including Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year in 2020 and Defensive Player in 2023 and 2024.

While at Westfield State, Hamilton was also a double major in economics and finance, even working as a banker until he transitioned to continue his basketball career!

Congratulations, Brendan Hamilton, on signing with Almonte Eindhoven; we are rooting for you from across the sea!
