Westfield State University jumps 33 spots in Money’s ‘Best Colleges 2020’ list

Westfield State University continues to be one of Massachusetts’ “best value” public universities among its peers, according to Money magazine’s “Best Colleges 2020” list that highlights 739 of the nation’s best schools that successfully combine quality and affordability. The rankings underscore the University’s commitment to providing accessible and affordable public higher education.

Westfield State is ranked higher than its fellow Massachusetts state universities and experienced a significantly higher placement— an impressive 33 spots—from last year’s Money ranking, jumping this year to #154 from #187.

“In comparison to Massachusetts’ comprehensive state universities, Westfield State graduates its students at a higher rate and retains its students at a higher rate than most of its sister institutions,” said Daniel Forster, vice president for enrollment management at Westfield State. “The marked improvement in our good standing indicates that Westfield State continues to deliver accessibility and affordability while graduating and retaining our students at high rates—an indication of the long-lasting value of a degree.”
