Alumnus Andy Wrba ’11 has built a strong career in the local Berkshire music industry. Wrba studied music at Westfield State University and wears several different hats in his career today. He has served as a member of Barefoot Truth, a teacher at The Darrow School, and music director at Mill Town Capital.
A year after graduating, Wrba formed the Berkshire Jazz Collective. The Collective just celebrated its 10-year anniversary in Pittsfield, MA. Wrba’s passion for music is seen throughout his life both professionally and personally. He strives to make the arts accessible for the community and curates' events throughout the year that are free and open to the public. Wrba hopes to have more community engagement and community collaborations through the avenues of music and the arts as well as access and education for everybody who wants more opportunities to explore music and the arts.
“I think there’s a great talent of young people in this area and — especially with all the world- class organizations that we have here — trying to find ways to connect those two is something we’re looking towards for the future.”
