Alumnus Matthew Carl ‘23M was recently named chief of police in the town of East Windsor, CT. He has worked for the East Windsor Police Department since 1996. Carl has held several positions including patrol officer, juvenile/community officer, detective sergeant, administrative lieutenant, and most recently Interim Deputy Chief. In addition to these roles, he has also served as a cold case detective for the Chief State’s Attorney’s office, investigating cold case homicides within the jurisdiction of East Windsor as well as the state of Connecticut.
First Selectman Jason E. Bowsza said in a written statement., "After an exhaustive open and competitive search, I am confident we have found the right choice be our next chief of police in Matt Carl,"
Carl said, "I am grateful for being selected as the new chief of police. I have been humbled by all the support I have received along the way. After 20 years of the same leadership, I look ahead to the future of the agency and look forward to the challenges the department will face. I am proud of the men and women of the East Windsor Police Department and the residents of the community."
