Dr. Stacy Monette ’07 Named Principal, Mashpee Middle-High School

Dr. Stacy Monette ’07 will start a new job as Mashpee Middle-High School principal in July. She is currently principal of Paul R. Baird Middle School in Ludlow.

Monette has mostly worked in administration but also taught special education for nearly a decade. In 2020, she was named Massachusetts Middle School Principal of the Year.

“I fell in love (with education) and literally realized that this is my purpose. Everything made sense to me,” she said. “I got my special education degree and really never looked back.”

School superintendent Patricia DeBoer spoke highly of Monette.

“Dr. Monette has a tremendous amount of positive energy and enthusiasm for teaching and learning. She values building positive and productive relationships.  We are super excited that she chose to join our Mashpee team. We believe she is the perfect person to lead the Mashpee Middle-High School.”

Monette is excited to begin her new position. She said, "Starting this September will be the first year where it could be a typical year, where we're not talking about social distancing and we're not talking about masking. It will be nice to just be able to start and see students' faces from the beginning."

She earned a bachelor’s degree in special education from Arizona State University, and a master’s degree in educational administration from Westfield State University. She also earned a doctorate in educational leadership for pre-kindergarten through grade 12.
