Elbert Bowler '20 Celebrates 77th Birthday with 77-Mile Bike Ride

On November 10, Elbert Bowler '20, a retired 43-year employee of The Republican in the advertising department, completed a 77-mile ride in celebration of his 77th birthday.
Bowler, in the red helmet, was joined on his journey by friends Bob Duffy of Westfield, Bill Finn of Holyoke, Mike Cichonski of Westfield, and Tom Jacquel of Westfield.
The trek, from the Columbia Bikeway, at Stop and Shop in Westfield, to the end of the Norwottuck Rail Trail in Belchertown, took approximately five hours and 45 minutes.
