On Thursday, May 4, 2023, City of Boston Mayor Michelle Wu held a press conference to announce the disbursement of federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) aimed at addressing homelessness and housing insta- bility in the city of Boston.

Through this federal grant, ESAC Boston will receive $1.78M to expand their FAST (Freedom to Achieve Stable Tenancy) program, led by Daiyana Pichardo, who has been with ESAC since 2019 since the beginning of the program. The FAST program fo- cuses on housing assistance case management support for Boston area youth and this federal grant will allow them to double the number of individuals served.

“This program works hard to support young people who face challenges seeking shelter and human services," according to Peg Drisko, CEO of ESAC Boston. “We are ex- tremely grateful to HUD and Mayor Wu and her staff. The expansion of our FAST pro- gram will make an enormous difference in the lives of our young clients."
