Robert Pimentel ’18 Welcomed by Walpole Police Department

Robert Pimentel ’18 was recently hired by the Walpole Police Department. Interim Chief Richard M. Kelleher made the announcement at a Select Board meeting on September 14th. The Board approved Pimentel’s appointment in a 5-0 vote.

"I just wanted to thank you for the opportunity to work for this great town," Pimentel said. "I look forward to getting to know the community more every day, getting to know them a little more personally and making them more of my family."

While attending Westfield State, he worked as a community service officer with the Wellfleet Police Department. After graduating from the MPTC Plymouth Police Academy in 2019, he returned to the Wellfleet Police Department as an officer. Pimentel also holds certification as a physical training instructor from the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee.

"For a young officer that's been on only for a couple of years, that's quite a feat to commit to being an instructor, so we were certainly impressed by this accomplishment," said Chief Kelleher.

Pimentel graduated from Westfield State in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in criminal justice.
