Dr. Sophia Sarigianides Nominated for the Grawemeyer Award in Education

Dr. Sophia Sarigianides, Westfield State Professor and Coordinator of Secondary English, has been nominated for the Grawemeyer Award in Education for her book  “Letting Go of Literary Whiteness: Antiracist Literature Instruction for White Students."

Sarigianides studies efforts to effect antiracist literature instruction with white teacher candidates and white students, as well as the role of adolescent constructs in young adult literature and in teacher thinking.
