Prof. Rajgopal publishes several articles

Shoba Sharad Rajgopal, Ph.D., professor and chair of the University’s Department of Ethnic and Gender Studies, published several articles during her Fall 2020 sabbatical.

For her sabbatical research project, Dr. Rajgopal co-edited a dossier on the links between South Asians and the Black Lives Matter movement for an academic journal.

She also completed the following projects which, she shared, were much more “fun.”

  • book review of Fawzia Afzal-Khan’s Siren Song: Understanding Pakistan Through Its Women Singers, published in September by Taylor & Francis Online.
  • guest commentary about Kamala Harris’ election as vice president, published in Ms. magazine in November.

And three pieces publishes in American Kahani:
  • guest commentary about the killing of three people in France by an ‘Islamic terrorist’ (November).
  • book review of Ken Langer’s novel, A Nest for Lalita (December).
  • book review of Melissa Bashardoust’s Girl, Serpent, Thornby (December)

Congratulations, Dr. Rajgopal!
